Holly house garden resource center

I'm currently attempting to put together a seed/tool/literature library for those who want to grow their own food and learn self sustainability; but lack the money, tools, or knowledge. I believe every person has a right to healthy and safe food, but either money or lack of access has limited that right for some. I feel like it's our duty to give back and help others gain a little self sufficiency and save the money they work so hard for.

Food empowers people, that's been true for us and it's true for others. If you know your dinner is growing in your yard, you can spend that money towards your rent, or your debt. It's a small thing, but it IS something. Peace of mind, knowing you can feed your family no matter how little money you have that week because there's lettuce and tomatoes on the patio, that's something important.

Here is a list of the services I hope to be able to provide by Spring:
-provide seeds
-provide containers for those without space to garden traditionally
-tools to borrow
-help with tilling
-help with fencing
-help with pest control without harmful chemicals
-a basic gardening class for beginners
-a class for canning and food preservation
-free literature to borrow, gardening books, etc.
-a forum for seed swapping between gardeners, beginner and expert
-and finally, help with composting

Also, for those technophiles out there, I just made a facebook page for HHGRC.
